Floor Instalation types: Nail/Glue Down Installation
If you want to recieve more information to make your choice, we will be happy to help you.
Recently, consumers have been trending towards wide wood planks, for example the stylish 8” planks. This trend poses some challenges in the installation process. We need to prevent at all costs buckling and crowning, typical problems when wide planks are not installed properly. In some cases when installing plank flooring 4” inches and wider, nailing and gluing the boards is what is recommended.
Please refer to the flooring manufacturer or the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers Association (NOFMA.org) for recommendations on installation.
- Avoid buckling and crowning of the planks.
- There is an additional costs to installing using the dual fastening method.
